Christmas Baubles

Free Crochet Pattern

by Scattie Crochet

If you are looking for last minute Christmas bauble designs to make your tree extra special this year, you've come to the right place. I used sparkly DK yarn to create these baubles that glitter beautifully under the lights of the Christmas tree.

The basic bauble pattern is the same for each design, and the unique patterns were created by changing colours and/or overstitching on top of the baubles. The baubles work up quickly and add lovely glittery sparkle to your decorations.

The baubles are worked from the top down in one continuous round, and stuffed firmly before the bauble is sewn closed at the bottom.

Colour Change

Always change colours in the last pull through of the previous stitch by putting the new colour on your hook and pulling it through the two loops of the old colour on your hook. When you complete the colour change it counts as a stitch with the old colour as you are setting up the next stitch with the new colour.

Decrease (Invisible Decrease)

Insert hook into the front loop (on the outside of the circle closest to you) of the next stitch. Insert hook into the front loop of the next stitch. yoh and pull through the first 2 loops on the hook. yoh and pull through the remaining 2 loops on the hook.

Single Crochet

Insert hook into the first stitch, yoh, draw yarn through stitch (2 loops on hook), yoh and draw through both loops on hook.
